DEEP STRETCH, DEEP SPACE. A YIN YOGA WORKSHOP with MICHELE SAPANARO: Saturday, February 26th

The adrenaline rush of a fast paced yoga practice might work wonders for the muscles, but how often do you slow and create space for stillness?

In this Yin Yoga practice we'll do just that, working with sustained holds in deep poses targeting the hips, hamstrings and low back.

Moving from the superficial layers to the subtle body, we'll melt beneath the muscles to open up the connective tissue and encourage a freer flow of energy (or prana) throughout.

RESTORATIVE YOGA BY CANDLELIGHT with LISA

Beat the winter blues! This candlelight yoga class will focus on the seven energy centers along the spine known as the chakras. FINDING ANCHORS IN THE YOGASANAS & THE ROLE OF RESISTING IN AID OF STRETCHING with MEL ROBIN

This workshop explores postural practice through alignment, props, and the analysis of the inner physiology in the practice of yoga.

Mel Robin is author of “A Physiological Handbook for Teachers of Yogasana”, a twenty-plus year Iyengar yoga teacher, retired scientist from Bell Labs, and recipient of the Science Mentor of the Year Award from President Bill Clinton.

In this class we will be doing heart and lung exercises (letting love in and letting go of grief) as well as large and small intestines (assimilation and letting go). We will also be doing some heart meditations. Please bring a journal.
