Yoga Class Descriptions
A restful, calming class incorporating yogic breathing, meditative awareness, gentle movements leading into passive-releasing and supported poses. These classes are appropriate for anyone who requires or prefers a softer, gentler approach to yoga.
Basic (Level 1) Yoga
A slow-paced class incorporating yogic breathing, fundamental movements including basic stepping-style Sun Salutations, standing poses, balancing poses and other classical postural elements. This class is for new students and those who prefer a moderate practice. Props and modifications are offered for good alignment and ease in the postures.
All Levels Flow Yoga
All Levels Flow class is designed to transition students towards more dynamic classes, focusing on fundamental yoga conditioning for coordination, strength and flexibility. They help establish a platform for growth for newer students as well as giving more experienced students some stronger options.
Flow (Level 1-2) Yoga
Flow 1-2 classes offer moderate to stronger postural practices: flowing movement with some emphasis on jumping-style Sun Salutations and held postures to develop strength and flexibility for deeper practice. Flowing postural sets, backbends and some inversion are incorporated for those ready to take their practice to the next level. Previous yoga experience is recommended.
Vinyasa (Level 2 & Level 2–3) Yoga
Practiced in a warm room, these classes feature dynamic postural practice with stronger jumping-style Sun Salutations and standing pose flows. Explore arm balances, deeper backbends and inversions. Previous experience definitely recommended!
Guided Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga
A dynamic vinyasa style of Hatha Yoga taught by Sri Pattabhi Jois in Mysore, India. This class is a guided 1st Series form of Ashtanga: a set sequence of poses, synchronized with breath, always done in the same order, starting with jumping Sun Salutes and ending with backbends and inversions.
These guided classes expose students to a variety of meditation techniques and approaches to mindfulness. We encourage anyone who practices yoga postures to meditate, so that the physical practice is complemented and balanced. Meditation is a wonderful tool on its own and can be life changing for anyone. All levels of experience are welcome.
A fun, exhilarating opportunity for kids to experience a playful approach to yoga. Yoga improves coordination, balance and movement integration for all stages of a child’s development. Children experience a safe environment where they are able to explore yoga postures, movement and breath in a supported non-judgmental atmosphere. Children are encouraged to learn more about who they are and their relationship to the world around them.
Practicing yoga during these years introduces young adults to healthy lifestyle habits that will encourage healthy choices in life. Like all who practice yoga, teens benefit both physically and mentally. Yoga reduces stress and anxiety as teens learn to calm the body and calm the mind using breath and postural practice as their guide. Yoga helps increase flexibility, improve muscle tone and build strength in the body. Many teens feel the benefits of yoga from a strengthened core, improved posture, better coordination and balance. As teens develop their practice, their understanding of mind body connection grows and they feel a stronger sense of self.
Movement & Meditation
Working with subtle energy movements, such as Chi Gong and The Five Rites, to prepare the body for a synthesis of meditations to release, discover and renew your body, mind and spirit. All Levels welcome.
Trauma Release Exercise (T.R.E.®)

By releasing everything from everyday stress to deeply held physical tension and trauma, T.R.E.® frees you up to meet life’s challenges with greater ease. Best of all, your body does the work; you get relief without needing to process or retell your story.
You’ll learn to use T.R.E.® to let go of stress and old patterning. The exercises work for all body types and are easily adaptable for any fitness level or mobility challenge. Once you’ve learned T.R.E.®, you can practice it independently, at your convenience. Empower your body to heal itself, and open up to greater sense of joy and wholeness.
All Levels Community Yoga Class
This class is designed to challenge continuing students as well as support those newer to yoga. New students are inspired and practicing students are given deeper variations. Taught by recent Yoga Synthesis Teacher Training graduates. Community classes are by donation and all money goes to local charities.
Energy Medicine Yoga®
Energy Medicine Yoga is an integrative yoga practice accessible to students of all levels. The practice includes classical yoga poses, breath-work, meditation and Energy Medicine techniques such as acupressure holds, Neurolymphatic Reflex self-massage (a unique and powerful way of working with and clearing your lymphatic system), and energy channel clearings. EMYoga will help unlock the language of your body to amplify your healing power – mind, body, and spirit. The result is a deep love, appreciation and acceptance of yourself just as you are now, as you continue on a path toward your best self. It is yoga . . . electrified!
